Building a High-Quality Watchlist from the Charting Tab

The Charting tab is more than a chart viewer — it's a full watchlist management workstation. Here's how to use its built-in screens, organize watchlists, and move from idea to action efficiently.

Most traders know the Charting tab as a place to look at charts. Fewer use it as the systematic watchlist-building workstation it's designed to be. The combination of built-in stock screens, named watchlists, and integrated leadership data means you can go from "I need 20 candidates to watch this week" to a prioritized, organized list in under 10 minutes.

Starting from built-in screens

The Charting tab includes several pre-built screens that filter the universe before you do any manual work:

Start with the screen that aligns with your current market read. In a strong breadth environment, the Leaders screen or High RS screen gives you the broadest candidate pool. In a choppy market, the Tight Setups screen may surface names building patient, low-volatility bases that will be ready when conditions improve.

Reviewing candidates and adding to watchlists

Click any ticker to open its full chart and the buy/sell/partial/hold verdict. When reviewing candidates:

Stocks that pass the chart, score, sector, and ATR check go onto your active watchlist. Ones with good setups but in lagging sectors go onto a secondary watchlist — they'll be ready to act on if the sector rotates into leadership.

Organizing watchlists for a weekly process

A sustainable watchlist process has a defined structure:

The Charting tab lets you name and save multiple watchlists. Using this structure means your daily pre-market review takes 5 minutes rather than 45 — you already know what you're watching and why.
