How to Choose a Momentum Research Stack

You do not need ten subscriptions. You need a clear morning loop: regime, leadership, chart confirmation. Here is a brand-agnostic checklist for building that stack.

Momentum traders often accumulate tools until the morning routine is a pile of tabs. A better question than “which product is best?” is “which jobs must my stack cover — and can one desk do most of them?” This checklist is brand-agnostic; WideRadar is one way to cover the breadth-first jobs end to end.

Four jobs every momentum stack should cover

When one dashboard is enough

If your morning questions are “how healthy is the tape?”, “which sectors lead?”, and “which names deserve a chart?”, a breadth-first cockpit like WideRadar can be the primary stack: Breadth + Leaders/Rotation + Charting with verdicts. You may still keep a secondary tool for exotic drawings or niche fundamentals — but it should not own the regime decision.

When you still want multiple tools

Split by job, not by habit:

A one-week trial test

For five sessions, write down before the open: breadth regime (risk-on / mixed / risk-off), top two sectors, and three leader names. Midday, note whether your entries obeyed that plan. If most mistakes were “ignored the tape,” your stack needs a stronger breadth-first seat — not another indicator pack.
